DOVO SHAVE RITUAL Pitch Dark turns lather preparation into a composed part of the bathroom rather than a container hidden after use. Developed with designer Carsten Gollnick, the set combines handmade ceramic elements with a precisely milled wooden base whose recesses meet each piece to the millimetre. The Pitch Dark finish is a deep matt black animated by small, subtly glossy points, giving the clean-edged forms depth without ornament. The dish supports the practical work of loading and building nourishing shaving lather, while the coordinated base and cover keep the arrangement visually calm between shaves. Produced with a specialist partner on Portugal’s west coast, it is both a working shaving accessory and a deliberate piece of craft.

What does it do?

The ceramic dish provides a stable surface for transforming shaving soap and water into lather. The precisely fitted wooden base organises the handmade elements and presents them as a coherent set.

How to use?

Load a damp brush from shaving soap or place a small amount of cream in the dish. Work the brush while adding water little by little until the lather is dense, glossy and easily spread. Rinse the ceramic after use and dry it before returning it to the wooden base; wipe wood with a soft, nearly dry cloth and never leave standing water on it.
