Slant Safety Razor MERKUR 37C

MERKUR 37C is a compact slant safety razor engineered for wiry, dense stubble that can make a conventional straight-bar head work harder. Its twisted head holds the blade at a slight angle, adding a slicing component to each straight stroke and improving cutting efficiency without asking the user to move the razor sideways. The short, diamond-knurled brass handle feels secure and manoeuvrable, while the 78gr weight supplies useful momentum through difficult areas. A large gap in the closed head promotes lather flow and helps prevent cut hair from clogging the razor. Known among enthusiasts as the “sledgehammer”, it is powerful in effect but works best in a practised, pressure-free hand.

What does it do?

How to use?

Prepare the beard thoroughly with warm water and a well-cushioning shaving cream or soap. Place the head at about a 30-degree angle and move it only in short, straight strokes; the head already creates the slicing action, so never draw it sideways. Use almost no pressure, shave first with hair growth and apply fresh lather before any further pass. Rinse the head often and handle replacement blades only by their short, unsharpened ends.
